Communication & Collaboration Network Utilities (CoCoNut)
Efficient collaboration and communication is becoming a key success factor in many organizations. In particular this becomes important as we adopt new models for cooperation that break and span organizational boundaries. Today a number of novel organizational forms such as distributed project teams, virtual multidisciplinary teams in both intra- and inter-organizational settings are being implemented in practice. Examples include standardization communities and e-business/e-commerce communities, like those involved in product development, in joint ventures between companies but also in virtual research organizations such as IBBT and the collaborative research projects between IBBT and its industry partners.
The goal of this project is to research the social models, the processes, and the technology solutions that will enable a more efficient communication and collaboration of virtual multidisciplinary teams using a people-centric research methodology.
