Development of Secure Applications with the Belgian electronic identity card (E-IDea)

e-IDea deals with applications that require privacy-friendly access controls that could be implemented with a (privacy-unfriendly) e-ID card. The research results are applied in three application areas: ticketing systems, domotics and holiday parks.

The research focuses on the e-ID card as a means to acquire other (privacy-friendly) access tokens and as a backup mechanism when these other tokens are lost. In this project, both pseudonym certificates and anonymous credentials will be used. Since anonymity might provoke abuse, accountability and liability issues will be dealt with.
