Medical collaborative visualization (MECOVI)
Healthcare is becoming increasingly complex. In addition to increasing medical knowledge, the diagnostic and treatment options are also multiplying exponentially. Multidisciplinary cooperation has become a must as a result of advanced specialization in various disciplines. Yet, multidisciplinary medical teams (MDTs) are often prevented from working efficiently because of the limited possibilities to integrate all patient data in the consultation, due to physical distances between team members or due to visualization technology that is not suitable for a consultation environment.
The research partners in the MECOVI project are jointly developing a digital environment for local and online collaboration in multidisciplinary medical teams (MDTs). During MDT meetings, this environment should enable the easy and intuitive interpretation and visualization of data from multiple sources and in multiple locations in order to facilitate cooperation between healthcare providers. This new solution will be widely applicable and integrate optimally with current clinical practices.
